Oh it seems as though I haven't blogged in about a year.
Reading through some of my previous blog posts, I seemed so childish in the past.
But I suppose, this is life.
Growing up, moving on, maturing.
A2 was a killer year. I've never ever worked harder in my life.
Hopefully it will all bear fruit on August the 18th.

Global Warming
An Incovenient Truth by Al Gore - a truly eye-opening video about global warming.
I know everyone groans and moans and roll their eyes at the thought of watching yet another global warming video, but this one really tops the charts.
A serious, morally and ethically considered video about global warming and its effects backed valid and thorough scientific research over the past few decades, with some information spanning the last century or so.
A recommended watch or read although I haven't yet read the book, but I feel as though the movie gives quite an impact on its own.
Who knows, it could open our eyes to the real truth that everyone wants to deny because no one really wants to do anything about it.
Plants are dying. Forests are dying. Animals are dying. People are dying. The Earth is dying.
So what are YOU going to do about it?

It's 7.37pm and it has been 27 minutes since prep started and I am soo lazy to do my English Language essay. :X
Did I mention I've been counting clauses for the past one hour? SIGH.
I can't believe that the last time I blogged, I was still in AS.
A2 is so freaking stressful, I'm so not kidding. :(
Interviews, offers, rejections, open days, it's like every day is a battle of wills to not check your emails every second of the day.
I've had this gradual realization since coming to Concord.
That I am actually really dumb :(
So to make up for my stupidity, I need to study real damn hard :'(
I won't blog again anytime soon after this post.
I need to bury myself in books and finish that 647 page Chemistry textbook AND swallow the damn thing whole.
I've been feeling the beginnings of a winter cold, shaking in my shoes everytime I leave my dorm so I assume all these signs point to the fact that it's practically winter.
If anyone ever gets the chance to go to the UK, I'd highly recommend them to try visiting Manchester.
I like it even more than London!
Do drop by if anyone ever comes.
It's a lovely place. :)

Post AS
Okay, first day back to school after exams.
We just finished our AS exams yesterday fyi.
Except for the 6.1 Double Mathematicians, who are withering in jealousy at the rest of us who are done with our exams ;) sorry guys =D
Everyone looks so dead today hahah
Can you believe we already started next year's syllabus?
We're almost done with C3 Chapter 1 == [as you probably can guess, Mrs Jesshope's teaching us C3 and that's how we're zooming through it]
Doing C4 Chapter 1 with Mr Harding
Statistics in Biology with Mrs Marsh
Watching anatomy videos with Dr Braybrook / we might start benzene rings next week =]
Looking through poetry analysis terminology with Mr Woods
Started Economics Unit 3 with Mr Hayward
I wonder what fun thing Mr Lawrence will do with us tomorrow *smiles*
Had a clinical pathologist that came in for first prep today.
His name's Professor Archie Malcolm i think.
It was pretty alright, fascinating at some parts but I had no idea why my eyes went so heavy midway through the talk and my head nearly kissed the table as I dozed off
Everyone else was serious and listening so intently... *gulp*
Well except me and this other guy who fell asleep too!! Hahahahah ;)
2nd prep - UCAS talk, How to Prepare your personal statements
It was so stressful sigh.
I feel like I should be preparing my personal statement IMMEDIATELY after Mr Lawrence's talk.
But that temporary feeling has worn off and now I'm feeling super duper lazy
Hehe.
Had a Bell House meeting last night at midnight (!!)
Only my side though, as usual - Lara, Susan, Jane, Sasa, Charmaine, Esther & I ('cept Esther wasn't there, I wonder where she went)
Filled in my Travel Arrangements Form to go home already =D =D
I can't believe I'm going home in...... 16 days!!!!! =] =] =]
Almost 2 weeks now!!! I can almost smell the Malaysian air!!! Hearts! >
Omg I miss home and my dogs and my parents and the food and my maid!!!!! ): ):
I miss my cousin tooo!!! She always brings me out after she finishes work (which is pretty late!)
She'd call and say "Clare! I finish work! I need to buy barang! Wanna go out??"
Me : "Yeah!!!!!!!!! :) :)" *yells* "DAD!! MOMM!!! I'm going out with Poshy! Okay??"
And Dad and Mom would be like "Whatever!"
Hahahah we go out till like midnight and stuffff and my parents don't minddd hehehe
Cos my coz is super responsible! :3
Sigh I miss home like madness!
The nostalgia, especially now after exams, when I'm almost combusting in boredom.
Hahahaha ;)
Oh well, grateful that exams are over.
Fingers crossed for good results!

It's A Saturday with no tests man! :)
It's really like a super great incentive to study.
Even those who don't usually bother with their studies are studying their brains out. :/
Makes one feel insecure sometimes.
Makes me feel damn stressed ! Haahaha
Shu Yi's 17TH birthday today!!!!
HAPPY 17TH SHU-YI DEAR !!!!!!! [girl to the far left]
Winter time in Concord. Sighs i miss winter!!!!! Zomg. I look so evil in this picture TOT

I think I've almost reached the point of no return.
I'm so bored, that I have to resort to studying to kill my boredom.
I know, wth right!
== Finished one chapter of Chemistry - Thermochemistry
Now looking through a paper.
Hope I can finish Chemistry ASAP.
Then I wanna quickly move on to Economics, then Biology.
Who cares about English. I'll just do as I always do, memorize the format and terminology the few scant hours before the exam.
As for C2. Well, I'll worry about it once I get my 4 exams out of the way.
I feel so stressed that I'm not stressed enough!
Everyone else is "STRESS STRESS STRESS"
I'm like ..." ERRRRR....OK, stress cos not stressed [enough]"
Yeap and we're all getting our bouts of insecurity.
I'm getting them in little bursts of depression at random moments of the day.
Like when I'm walking back to my room, or when I hear the silence in the school.
Or when I see people studying in the library.
Nyeh ):
I'm really envious of the arts students, they only have economics and maths left.
I'd be super duper uber relaxed and be lazing my way through the halfterm break. ):

OMGGG the mood to study has totally evaporated from me.
Left with Econs Unit 1 this week. -___-
Why must econs always, ALWAYS be a friggin' extension of the other papers?
Like all other papers finish first EXCEPT ECONS -_____-
It was like that during the Easter exam too.
Like everyone finished in the morning, but we economics students still had the econs paper on the last day.
Idk. No mood to study anymore. :'(
I have 20 or 30 more pages to look through in the Student Unit Guide zzzzzz.
I just feel sooo super bored.
I'm even trying out hairstyles! Hahahaa :pp
Should I go to town tomorrow? Hmm? In the morning? Afternoon? :/

1st week of AS exams
Heya, I can't believe that I've sat for 3 papers already D:
Chemistry F321, C1 & just finished Biology Unit 1 this morning.
I hope I did okay.
Was hungry after a pretty bad lunch (the chicken was spicy! D:)
So I went to the Post Office with Shu Li.
It was.....CLOSED! =.="
Opened at 2pm and we were approximately 41 minutes TOO EARLY.
So I wanted to walk back the long way, but Shu Li didn't want to.
So I told her it was the shortcut,, and she didn't realize it until we were halfway through walking the bigggggg round around the perimeter of the school compound :p
Hehe and now she's tired and sleepy, I bet she went to sleep hahahah!
Okay tomorrow I get a day off! ^_^
Then Statistics 1 and ELLA1 on Thursday.
So worried for ELLA1 la.
How on earth does one prepare for an English Lit and Lang exam anyway?
Other than memorizing terminology and re-reading the text again. :/
I should be studying stats but I've been delaying it from since I finished Bio around 10am. :S
I'm only at stem and leaf diagrams, yeah yeah, I know I'm a professional procrastinator.
So I bid you all adieu and shall return to my stats now
Ta! ;)

I'm trying my best not to be annoyed.
But the commotion downstairs outside my room is driving me nuts.
It's inflaming my headache.
Sorry that I sound so selfish right now, but I'm not feeling well and every yell is vibrating in my head.
I can't focus, the room is like a sauna, I'm bored & my bio book is lying away from me.
You know what people say that summer overseas is so nice? The sun doesn't set till 10pm (true).
But let me tell you. After months of single digit and below temperature, it SUCKS!
We don't have airconditioners nor do we have fans anywhere in Concord.
There are horrible bugs everywhere. Emphasis on EVERYWHERE.
I saw a spider in the toilet yesterday morning and I almost screamed. It was disgusting.
And did I mention that our toilet is so small that you can only afford to turn a circle?
So we have no choice but to face that....that....THING!!!
Everyone's facebook status is alllll about the horrible hot weather & the million and one bugs!!!
I don't know how I ever survived in Malaysia (which is much hotter than the temperature now).
I think I might even faint when I arrive in Singapore.
Fingers crossed that it'll just have finished raining when I arrive back in Kuching. :x

Chemistry
oh gosh i'm so bored la.
it's a friday night or should i say saturday morning and AS has just begun.
1st paper chemistry unit 1.
i dont know why but most of my exams usually ALWAYS begin with chemistry! odd much?
zzz i'm chatting with zane & doddy on msn and huicin on skype. boy i am bored.
did i mention i'm killing myself over the fact that i screwed up one subquestion in my chemistry exam today?
i wrote the answer as 9.84% and the answer was 98.4%!
I FELT LIKE killing myself when i left the exam hall and everyone seemed to have gotten the answer BUT ME!!!!!
But now i found out that tessa, shaun and i all made the same mistake.
sigh. 2 marks gone. goodbye A grade!!!! ): ): ):

I got into Paul House!!
The best girls' boarding house on campus! :)
But I'm so sad that most of my friends didn't get in.
Right now, only Nat (Lau) and I are the only ones of our group of friends that got in. D:
But at least I got Nat with me!!
We're gonna try to get a room near each other,, or opposite each other!
Would be awesome! XD
I felt so disheartened during the ballot, cos there were so many girls and I thought I didn't stand a chance at all.
It seemed like there were 50-100 girls in the theatre and only 30 rooms available. >o<
Saturday, May 8, 2010
Since coming to Concord, I've never actually realized the privilege of looking forward to a Friday night, where I can do this rare thing called RELAX.
I **USED** to looooove Friday nights.
But NOW, it's the night I dread the most!
Because WHY?
Because of SATURDAY TESTS!!!!!!!
Gosh!!
It kills my Saturday mornings!!
#1 : I can't freaking sleep in!!
#2 : I have to spend sooo much of my time studying on Friday nights!! When what I really really want to do is watch movies!!!!!!!!! ): ):
#3 : I have multiple Saturday tests. Every. Single. Week. It's either 2 and 2 or 2 and 1 for most people but for ME, it's 3 and 2 every alternate week!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRR
And seriously, I'd rather start my tests early and end early but as LUCK WOULD HAVE it.
It's either I stay early AND end late or start late and End Late!!!!
WTF RIGHT??
=_="
Some more, gotta commute between tests between Sports Hall and Main Hall every week.
Gotta walk some more. Aiyer I'm damn malas man D:

Concord hosted their annual swimming gala today.
U Thant got 1st and HAMMERS 2ND =)
I think Waldheim got 3rd and Lie last, because they forfeited so many swimming events.
There were 2 national swimmers in U Thant, so lucky.
Yvette and Morris. National swimmers for Singapore and Hong Kong respectively.
They both all keng first for all their events...!! :OO
We had this English state swimmer on our team though, she's quite good too. :)
Her name's Hannah, if I'm not wrong.
Anyway, I went to cheer my baby sis on.
She swam for Form 3, since U Thant had no swimmers for Form 3.
I screamed her name and after she was done swimming, immediately switched to cheering my house, Hammerskold! =)
We had a BBQ outside the swimming pool after that.
I ate a beef burger, cos they were out of chicken already.
It was damn nice, the best food Concord's served since I came! :) :)
Will upload the pictures later! :) - erm, maybe in a few weeks' time!! Hahahaha.
Man, I know I gotta study but I just can't help but feel lazy.
AS only 3 weeks away now !! *gulp*
And going home in 8 WEEKS' TIME!!!!!! I can't freaking wait!! =)
Nat & I are gonna go out, out, out!!!!!!! (: (:
